Yacht Damage Assessment and Post-repair Surveys
Damage to a boat can affect its structure, fittings, equipment or appearance. Understanding the extent of visible damage and deciding whether further specialist investigation is required can be an important part of planning repairs.
Windermere Yacht Services provides damage assessments and post-repair inspections where the vessel and requested scope fall within our capabilities.
Damage assessments
An assessment may document visible damage, the affected areas and any concerns that warrant further investigation. The inspection scope depends on the circumstances, access to the vessel and the type of damage involved.
Not all damage is visible from the surface. Where appropriate, further investigation by a specialist may be recommended.
Post-repair inspections
A post-repair inspection considers the work and areas agreed before the inspection. It may help document the visible condition of repaired areas and identify matters that require clarification or additional attention.
The inspection should not be treated as a guarantee of the repair's performance or as certification of work beyond the agreed scope.
Arranging an inspection
Please describe the incident or repair, provide photographs where available, and share any relevant repair invoices, specifications or previous reports. We can then discuss the inspection required and whether it is appropriate for us to undertake.
