Establishing an appropriate value for a boat requires consideration of the vessel itself and the purpose for which the valuation is required.

Windermere Yacht Services can discuss valuation surveys for yachts and small craft where the vessel and intended purpose fall within our surveying scope.
 

What is considered?

Depending on the agreed assignment, relevant considerations may include the vessel's type, age, specification, construction, condition, equipment and available maintenance history. Comparable market information may also be relevant where suitable evidence is available.

The method and assumptions used should reflect the intended purpose of the valuation. A market valuation, an insurance-related valuation and a valuation for another formal purpose may not be interchangeable.
 

What information should you provide?

Please provide the vessel's make and model, year of manufacture where known, approximate length, construction, equipment, location and the reason for the valuation.

Previous reports, maintenance records and supporting documentation may also assist in establishing the scope.
